Today we did an awesome quescussion and dissected a primary source from The Crusades. We then researched information about the crusades so we can have more prior knowledge going into Chapter Two. You all did amazing and came up with wonderful questions : ) Great job!

FIELD TRIP FORMS

We are going on a field trip on Thursday to the Glenbow museum. You NEED to get your fieldtrip forms and 10$ in ASAP in order to go on the trip. There are still a number of you who have not done this so please get them signed tonight and bring the forms back tomorrow right away!

Tomorrow you will have performance based assessment on Unit rates, ratios, and proportions. We talked about what tonight should look like for you in class today.

Your homework is to stupid the three topics you will be assessed on tomorrow. Go on IXL and Khan academy and complete questions relating to unit rates, ratios and proportions. Challenge yourself, take ownership of your learning, and you will rock it!

Today we worked on our Epilogues......you will have access to technology tomorrow and will be able to type a good copy. Please brainstorm tonight and come to class ready with a plan for your writing!

We also were introduced to Read Theory....an online reading comprehension program. Please complete this AT LEAST once a week to improve your comprehension. It is an excellent tool to challenge yourself as the readings go from K-12 depending on your pretest scores.

We completed our vocabulary for homework and then worked on our textbook review. We have a Chapter one quiz on Thursday and will be reviewing tomorrow.

We had a great debate about living in a town VS living in the country during the Middle Ages. I love your enthusiasm and passion for debating - pretty awesome : )

Here are the notes we took from the board if you did not get them copied down or were away.

Please pep up your journal on the weekend.....complete any unfinished work (such as the map) and take a look at your town vs city notes. Think about WHY people were unhappy....and why the peasants had a revolt!

Homework:

Brainstorm in your journal three reasons why the peasants would rebel.....and be ready to discuss on Monday.

Today we chatted about country life VS town life in the Middle Ages. We created two hierarchies that demonstrated the main people in society. Tomorrow we will be having a debate about the pros and cons of living in a country and living in a town.

For homework, please brainstorm some ideas for pros and cons for living in both during the Middle Ages.

There was a mistake with your parent letter. There is a 10 dollar fee associated with this field trip. In order to attend you must bring your forms, signed, back to me as well as ten dollars.

We are starting the Renaissance and had a wonderful discussion on our ideas about concepts, vocabulary, and people that related to this specific time period. You all did really well!
